 JAMES and Janet (Harrower) LAMBERT  
Son - James Lambert:  b:- 13 May 1791, Dunfermline, Fife.
Daughter - Isabel: b:- 12 April 1794, c:- 4 May 1794, Dunfermline, Fife.

James and Mary (Inglis) Lambert (m. 12 February 1815) son - David born (1822) 
in Kinross. 
David and Jean (Johnstone) b.(2 Sep.1827 Milnathort), married on 7 October 1850 
in the Orwell Parish Church Milnathort.  
Jean's Parents were John Johnstone (b.22 May 1791) and 
Marion (Blackwood) Johnstone (b. 14 June 1793) m, 20 November 1822. 
Portmoak, Kinross.

David and Jean eventually moved to 11 High Street, Dollar, Clackmananshire, Scotland between 1853 - 1854 approximately.  
David was a Baker (Journeyman).  
They had Sons - James (b. 1852, Milnathort), John (b. 1855),  David (b. 1856), 
Robert (b. 1859). 
Daughters - Marion (b. 1851 Milnathort), Mary (b. 1858),  Jane (b. 1865). 
After moving to Carbo, Dollar,  Alexander (b. 1869),  Janet (b. 1873). 
Sons - John ( year of entry - 1880 ), David ( year of entry - 1881 ), Robert and Alexander ( year of entry - 1883 ).
 all emigrated to the USA.

Brother & Sister

Alexander returned from the USA and settled in London, UK. 
He married Honorah in 1902 and eventually returned to live in Fife, Scotland with two sons John and Alexander.
After returning to Scotland, a Daughter, Rosannah (my link to the Lambert family) and Son, Robert were born.


John Lambert, David L. Lambert and Robert Kirk Lambert, all remained in the USA.

Robert Lambert was a "Stone Mason" before emigrating to the USA.

James Lambert, age 23, married Elizabeth Chalmers, age 25, in 1874 in Dunfermline, Fife. 
At the time James was a Slater & Glazier (Master) in Edinburgh and his address was 23 Dean Bank Cottage, Edinburgh. Elizabeth was a Domestic Servant. 
After the birth of their first child they moved to Aberlady, Haddington.

Marion Lambert, age 22, married Walter Holmes, age 23, in Old town Dollar. 
At the time Marion was a Domestic Servant and Walter was a Mason. 
They moved to Glasgow when on 31 October 1872 their son David Lambert Holmes was born. 
The address at that time was Mathieson Street, Glasgow.

Janet Lambert, age 22,  married James Stenhouse, age 23, on the 31 December 1896.
At that time Janet was a Domestic Servant and lived at Braid Crescent, Edinburgh.
 James was a Coalminer.

I believe the Lambert family may have originally come from Belgium or France 
before a member of that family moved to Scotland, approximately late 1500's - 1600's.

I am very interested in receiving / tracing any information about ancestors and descendants of the above family.
